Tyndale NT study group July 2015
The Tyndale New Attestation Study Grouping is part of the Tyndale Fellowship for biblical and theological research, based at Tyndale House in Cambridge, and including evangelical scholars from all over the world. I have succeeded John Nolland of Trinity Bristol as Chair of the group.
This year'south NT Study Group will be meeting on 8th to tenth July in Cambridge and will be focussing on the letter of James, though with some other papers also. Information technology looks like a very interesting programme; total details can be found on the Tyndale Fellowship website. Papers will include:
Professor Roland Deines (Nottingham) on 'Can the Historical James Help u.s. to Sympathise the Historical Jesus?'
Professor Richard Bauckham (St Andrews and Cambridge) on 'Messianic Jewish Identity in James'
Professor Gary Habermas (Liberty Academy) on 'The Nature of Early on Christian Creedal Statements'
Dr Mariam Kamell Kovalishyn (Regent College, Vancouver) on 'The Role of Elijah in the Letter of James'
Dr Nijay Gupta (George Pull a fast one on Evangelical Seminary) on 'Covenental Pisticism: Faith and Human Agency in Galatians'
And the Tyndale NT lecture will exist given by Dr Grant Macaskill (St Andrews) on 'Jesus, the New Testament, and Intellectual Humility'.
Do come up and join u.s. for part or all of the meeting. The study grouping is a peachy opportunity to engage with the best of evangelical scholarship, and to meet other scholars from effectually the world. My hope is that the group will develop further every bit a central support network for evangelical scholars over the adjacent five yr.
You can book your place on the NT Study Group page of the Tyndale Fellowship website.
